From the dates ______ on the plates,we decided that they were made in Song Dynasty.
A.marking
B.been marked
C.marked
D.to be marked
但是为什么不是A呢?
这个marking 不是用在From介词后面吗?介词后面的动词一律ing形式!

当然不是A了,介词后的动词一律用ing是直接相连 就是 From 动词ing 这种形式才能用的.
至于选C,那是因为这个,里面包含了一个句型.marked是用来修饰dates的,应该是个定语从句吧 这个有些不大肯定了
这句话的断句是这样的
From the dates ,we decided that they were made in Song Dynasty.
而marked on the plates是直接插入用来修饰the dates

1. 这是个定语从句，省略了which were，恢复整句应该是from the dates (which were) marked ...
2. marking （-ing）表示主动，而marked（-ed）表示被动。这句话很显然dates是“被mark”到盘子上的，所以就选C拉；
3.还有只有介词后面紧跟着动词，动词才用ing形式哦， 这句还隔了the dates.不知道这样回...

这里用 marked 过去分词 表示dates是被标记上去的 marked on the plates后置定语来修饰the dates
