in spite of之后只能加名词或名词性短语,不能接句子.比如 In spite of the weather,……这样.
(这里区别于despite,despite后可以加名词性从句如“Despite the fact that the public is getting increasingly discontented,但普通句也是不行的~)
就语法上的死规则,记住就好……
至于although~那就没啥限制了

举些例子： In spite of his disappointment, he managed a weak smile.
She is still very active, in spite of her advancing years.
其中 his disappointment, her advancing years 都是名词词组
所以选B
