I read your ad in the newspaper last Sunday. Now I’m writing to tell you I’d like to become a member of the Birdwatching Club.

I’m a 15-year-old student in Grade 8 at Beijing Sunshine secondary school. My favourite subjects are P.E. and science. I’m very interested in travelling and playing basketball, and I’m quite healthy. I’m also an animal lover, so I love birds and nature very much. Last year I wrote a report on the endangered animals for our school newspaper.

I think it is very important for me to do something to protect birds.
