I watch the calendar on my table. Today is May 12th. It is my mother's birthday.
I havn't seen my mother since I left home after high school in 2008. I tell my parents that I am busy, but I know it is just an excuse. I am just lazy and don't want to walk along the narrow tracks in the mountains to get home. But how can I forget my parents and how I can stop thinking about them. The shabby house among the mountain and the barren farmland, there lays my home in remorse direction. For countless times, I dream about going back home. The familiar land, the familiar village and the most important of all, are the people who love me and who I love. No matter how far I am away from the piece of land, my root has deeply grow into that piece of land. No matter how high I fly, there is always the peaceful harbour for me to hide from storms of the outside world.
I pick up the phone and want to call home. I suddenly remember that our village hasn't installed any phone yet. I look at the busy street in front of my window. People walk by quickly along the cerment road. Put down the phone; I say quietly in my heart "happy birthday mom!"
