课文中有这么一句话：They had got away with thousands of pounds worth of diamonds.
后面翻译是：他们已经带着价值数千磅的首饰逃之夭夭了.
worth of 是价值多少的意思,不是应该说是with diamonds worth of thousands of pounds?

楼主的问题,是词组混淆.worth of并不是表示值得的词组,worthy of才是.
按楼主意思,改成with diamonds worthy of thousands of pounds,我想是可以的.
那么原文怎么会有worth of呢?其实worth在这里是名词,而不是形容词.of是所属结构,of前后都是名词.
