能解释下conquest of的结构吗?

“名词+of”并不是作为动词,而是作为表语与be动词一起,代替动词,如
"is the conquest of" = "to conquer"
"is waste of time" = "to waste time
用名词代替动词可以使英语显得更地道.

个人认为。应该是：
of + 名词，相当于“名词相对应的形容词”吧。
因为“be of 名词”=“be 形容词”
books of value=valuable books
it is of use=it is useful
it is of great use=it is greatly useful
of disease相当于“疾病的”形容词
