1）现在完成时
my father has been dead for three years.（注意：for要用在现在完成时,作这个时态的标志）
2)一般过去式
my father died three years ago.
3)同样是现在完成时（这种时态用第一个方式说更好.）
my father has died for three years.
实际上“热心网友”的第二句也是非常好的,支持原创所以我没有移过来用.

it is three years for my father to die 应该是这样，这句式用得比较少。
