关于all and whole的区别

egiments作一大群的意思.

这两词意思相同，但用法很不一样。

1) whole 一般位于冠词、所有格或别的限定词之后，而 all 须位于这些词之前。

① all the time= the whole time整个时间

② all my life= my whole life我的一生

③ all the class = the whole class 整个班级

【注意】如名主词前没有限定词，不能用 whole，如可以说 all day，而不能说 whole day。

2) all 和 whole 都可指“未经分割的整体”。但 all 还可用来指“已经分割或分散的人和物”，而 whole

不能这样用。

① the whole city = all the city 整座城市

② all the classes 所有的班级(不能说 the whole classes)

3) whole 一般不能修饰不可数名词或物质名词，修饰复数名词时一般前面有数量词，而 all 能用于各种情况。

① all the money 所有的钱(不说 the whole money)

② three whole days 三整天

4) whole 一般不能修饰地名。不能说 the whole Europe，但可以说 the wholeof Europe(整个欧洲)。
