意思不一样:1.there are so many books on the shelf有那么多的书放在书架上2.there are so many books in the shelf有那么多的书放回到书架上3.on the shelf.放在书架上4.in the shelf放回到书架上以上两个意思是不一样的.第一个是指东西已经放在书架上了,第二个是指之前拿出来的东西要放回书架上,两者意思完全不一样的.
