PPP 显然是用于软件的操作,不像HDLC等基本上是用于硬件.通过使用这种软件,相对于单个字节的操作来说工作就简单多了.另外,PPP还可以用于调制解调器,调制解调器接受和传输数据是以每字节为单位的,而不是像过去的二进制那样以比特即位作为传输单位.
