所以用what
给你举两个例子,你就能明白
we visit the Great wall in Beijing?
对the Great Wall进行提问,则用what
What did you visit in Beijing.
对In Beijin提问则用where
Where did you visit the Great Wall.

给你举两个例子，你就能明白 we visit the Great wall in Beijing? 对the Great Wall进行提问，则用what What did you visit in Beijing. 对In Beijin提问则用where Where did you visit the Great Wall. where是对地点状语进行的提问 也就是地点前必然有介词in,at 或on ,to等。
