不可以，to为介词，楼主可以这样说
thanks to the rain,the match was canceled.全怪下雨，比赛取消了（是想比赛）。也可译为，幸亏下雨，比赛取消了（是不想比赛）。
It was thanks to your timely help that we accomplished the task on time.
幸亏你及时帮忙,我们才按时完...
