说what是主语.为什么特殊疑问词作主语时is要放在前面呢?选A为什么不可以?将整个句子改为：mother asked the youngest kid what the matter with his toy car was.
he asked ,"how are you getting along?“---->he asked how i was getting along.一句中,为什么又是”i was"呢?变为“was i”可以吗?

what is the matter with sb 是固定用法‘ WHAT 是引导词,也是从句的主语,却已是陈述语序,不用变,排除A C,主句是一般过去时,从句要用相应的过去时.排除D
如果是A 就变成’ 那件事是什么‘ 放入原句不符（因为后面有WITH ……）
第二句从句的主语是YOU ,这句正确的应该是：he asked ,"how are you getting along?“---->He asked me how I was getting along.（ 从句要用陈述语语,HOW 引导词作状语,I 是主语）

可是上文中是“his toy car”是东西，不是人啊。下面一句是在百度翻译上找的，为什么同是物，语序不一样呢？ I don't know what the matter is with the car, but it won'tstart. 我不知道汽车出了什么故障，但就是启动不了。 what the matter is不是也可以用在陈述语气上吗？ 还有问题中把was放在最后可以吗？ 谢谢！
