Chubb’s mother asked him to move the family piano from the dining room to the living room. He was strong, but not strong enough to move the piano any farther than the doorway(门口) between the rooms. So he called Peter for help.
“You take this end,” Chubb told Peter when he got there. “and I’ll go around to the dining room and take the other end.”
Peter nodded, and when Chubb was in place(在适当的位置) and gave the word, he pushed. And pushed. And pushed.
But the piano didn’t move.
Again Peter pushed, but it still didn’t move.
They took a break.
“Boy,” Peter said, “I don’t know if we’re ever going to get this into the dining room. I’ve pushed…”
“Push?” Chubb repeated. “I thought you were pulling it into the living room!”
