英语语法问题,求解!
After _____ (retire), the old man stayed at home all day, cooking lots of food.
老师说答案是retired,但我认为是retiring,after后面不应该加ing吗?

这是非谓语动词的知识点
after可以作介词也可以作为连词,但是这题我们可以这样分析：
after the old man was retired,the old man stayed at home all day, cooking lots of food.

这是完整的.但是为了简便.就用了非谓语动词.
retired 可以看做形容词. 而不应该看做after + 介词.
不知这样说是否明白
