A.is shown
is passive present tense. It is used to talk about facts or habbits.
For example: An apple is eaten by me.(= I eat an apple [every day])
B.is being shown
is passive present continuous tense. It is used to used to talk about things happening NOW.
For example: An apple is being eaten by me.(= I am eating an apple [now])
Therefore 'A' is used to describe daily events and 'B' is used to talk about things happening NOW.
In this question,'B' is a more suitable anwser because the play will not be shown every day.
