上面两个句子是分别由which和where引导的定语从句.which和where在定语从句中的不同在于他们在从句中充当的成分不同,which在从句中作主语或宾语或介宾,where在从句中做地点状语.
第一个句子中先行词factory作宾语,we visited the factory,所以引导词用which,第二个句子中先行词shop是地点状语,we visited the assistant in the shop,所以引导词用where.where也可以由in which 来代替.
