If I am given a choice between beauty and intelligence,obviously I would opt to have intelligence,because intelligence is more important to our lives,although beauty is also the one that we want to pursue and possess.
There are three viewpoints to support my answer.
Firstly,beauty is short-lived; beauty can not be reserved for ever.Young age comes to a person only once and it will never come again when it is gone,likewise,once the person turns elderly the stunning feature is getting disappeared bit by bit,which is not the thing we can control,we have to face the fact.Beauty is a charming bloomy flower but it will be fading away as the time goes by,beauty is a shining falling star tearing over the silent sky,glamorous but short By contrast intelligence is perpetual.We can even say a person possessing intelligence might get smarter and smarter with age.Generally speaking,excluding diseases,we would not lose our wisdom until we rest in peace.Moreover,some wisdom would not be buried and still be passed on to others.Newton is the exact example,his intelligence has impacted to us,and his three laws act the role of basis of modern science.So I prefer to choose intelligence.
Secondly,intelligence could help us to make money for a long time on many aspects.Almost all occupations can not be lacking of intelligence,such as engineer,artist,manager or police.Reversely,beauty has time limit,so it is better to stuff the pocket before fall is coming.Beauty appears to be an elegant prostitute,but once she does not worth a buck at all.There fore,in economic value view,having intelligence is wise choice.
Last,I feel a person should be affluent in spirit.In pursuit of that beautiful figure is a shallow behavior.Beauty is a skin-deep thing; Enriched knowledge can make a person feel absolutely mentally substantial.He sees more that others,he learns more than others as well,critical thinking a part of his life.Having intelligence could make life become colorful and meaningful.
Hence,I choose intelligence; it is firmly and perpetually joyful thing.
