我要的是比-------try to do尽量,努力做某事 try to finish it 尽量完成它 try doing sth 试着做某事 尝试做 后面跟动名词或名词 try （using ）this one 试试用这个--------比这更深入的解析!

try to do尽量,努力做某事
类似于try one's best to do sth
try doing sth 试着做某事 尝试做
仅是尝试 暗含不成功就放弃的意义
另外我觉得原句好象应该是用LOOK UP 这个词组

选to solve，因为在高级语法中，不定式结构具有未完成性和将来性的特点．
比方说：be about to do sth.
help sb. to do sth.等等

而动名词结构则没有这层意思．＾＾先讲这么多吧，祝学习进步．

try doing sth 试着做某事 尝试做, 一种方法不行，再用另外的方法。
I try _solving___ the problem by looking it up in the dictionary。
