这里并不是强调两个动词的并列,而是强调rush过后的一个状态,所以该用leaving,表结果,伴随状态.

leaving the door unlock此处充当结果状语，表示Jhon冲出去之后，门所处的状态。英语喜欢用分词结构或介词短语来表示静止的状态。
如果要作并列谓语，就不需要用逗号隔开，而应该写成John rushed out in a hurry and left the door unlock.
显然，改写后的句子没有原来那么生动了，也不太符合英语习惯。...

没有并列连词，不能成并列谓语。

另外：你给的句子最后的单词应该是unlocked表示状态的，而不是unlock，你再检查一下。
