海洋观测技术手段的迅速发展,使得多时段、大范围、多尺度的海洋数据迅速增加.然而,由于获得数据的仪器设备、处理方法,以及各海洋部门的习惯不同,使得大量的海洋数据普遍存在异构的情况.同时,由于各个海洋数据提供单位通常处于不同的地理位置,而且数据的使用者和提供者往往也不在同一个地理位置之中,给数据的共享带来了不便,同时也造成数据的利用效率低、资金浪费.
海洋信息网格中,既共享着大量的海洋数据,又涉及到许多海洋分析模型,这些模型能够对原始海洋数据进行分析,产生新的科学数据,并可以实时地纳入到海洋信息网格中,成为新的网格数据资源,供用户浏览和分析.因此,网格环境下,海洋虚拟数据的实时生成技术成为信息网格不同于以往的信息共享模式的关键技术.

As the marine observation technological means' rapidly expand, the multi-time intervals, the wide range and the multi-criterion marine data are increasing rapidly. However, the instrumentation equipment to obtain data, the processing method, as well as various marine departments’ custom is different, cause the massive sea data universal existence isomerism the situation. At the same time, the marine data providers are usually in the different
geographical position. Moreover data users and providers are not in identical geographical position. These have brought inconveniently for data sharing, simultaneously also causes the data use efficiency to be low and fund waste.
In marine information grid, there are sharing the massive data, and involves many marine anatomic models. These models can analyze the primitive ocean data, thus produces the recent data. And also can integrate the real-time marine information into the grid, becomes the new grid data resources for user to browse and analysis. Therefore, under the grid environment, the marine virtual data's real-time production technology becomes to be a different information grid technology with the former information sharing pattern key technologies.
