Students who aspire to go to medical schools are often stressed out because of the large number of their competitors all over the world. For example, in the U.K., students who are going for medical schools often have three A* for their test grades, and even having three A* may not guarantee a position in the medical school. In addtional to the three major courses, students also have to take either BMAT or UKCAT exam, which is a general test that decides whether a student is the right candidate for medical schools. When 香港中文大学医学院 admits students for its medical school, the grade of BMAT or UKCAT exam is required. On the other hand, 香港大学医学院 does not require the same test grade. As for local students, they often have relatively high scores, and the scores of admitted students are often above 36, with an extra interview of a total point of 7 (以每粒*为1分 没看懂). Chinese, English, mathematics, and general knowledge take four subjects of the exam, with two other subjects to students' choice, making the total exam consisting of six subjects. The average score for each subject should be above 5*, which is not an easy task.
