sorry, 我看错了。这个要选place. 什么情况下选what? 当把it 去掉，这个表语从句有主谓宾。如果有it, 再用what，那就两个主语了。为什么选place? place作为主句的宾语，即our school is no longer the place, 说到这里，作者意犹未尽，想对这个place（即学校）做进一步补充说明，就紧接了一个定语从句：that it used to be. 定语从句的that作为先行词，在这里可以省略。
