more than 是指的是 不仅仅 的意思,就是消防队员不仅仅是灭火,他们还被用来做别的事.

more than的意思除了“超过”外,还有“不只是,不仅仅”的意思!
另外not more than也较常见,表示“不超过”或“只是..而已”
很特别的一种用法
more +n than +n指“与其说...不如说”(n指名词)
