As we all know, the Internet plays a really important part in modern life, and sending email has mostly taken the place of ordinary mails. For one thing, sending and receiving email is really fast and convenient. We can also attach documents and pictures or even videos at the same time. What's more important, it saves a lot of paper. It's actually an environmentally friendly act to send and receive emails. On those special occasions we can send ecards instead of ordinary paper card. We save a lot of trees in this way.
I often send and receive email to and from my family and friends. It's an easy and effective way to keep in touch with them especially when they're not around us. When I was on a language travel tour in America, I sent a lot of email to my parents together with the pictures I took there. I was really excited and happy when I received email from my parents. Since I came back, I've been keeping in touch with my host family by sending email and e-cards.
In my opinion, sending and receiving email has already become part of our life and mostly it is a good thing to do.
