5. Grout mixes for contact, consolidation and curtain grouting shall be selected and changed only as directed. The following initial procedures shall be followed. The Engineer may revise these procedures to achieve optimum grout penetration.
6. Once started, grouting is to be continued until refusal criteria is obtained. During grouting the Contractor shall take every precaution to prevent the grouting equipment and lines from becoming blocked. He shall accordingly continuously circulate the grout and periodically flush the system with water.
7. If a hole absorbs an abnormal amount of grout without reaching refusal the Contractor shall inform the Engineer immediately and the rate of injection shall then be reduced or injection shall be carried out intermittently or such other procedure as may be directed by the Engineer shall be adopted.
