asked后面引导宾语从句,这时候宾语从句的语序要变成陈述的
what was the matter with sb.=what was wrong with sb?
what在从句中是主语
A what the matter was 里面的matter是“物质”,因为陈述的时候是 the matter was sth.主语是the matter,谓语是was,现在的what是相当于sth.所以当what引导出句子时,后面要陈述语气,也就是主语+谓语,那就变成 what the matter was 那物质是什么
而what was the matter with sb./ what was wrong with sb.里面的matter是“问题”,陈述语气是 sth.was the matter with sb.所以what相当于sth.是主语,那么陈述语气就直接是主语+谓语,what was the matter with sb.
