When I saw this topic,I thought when is the time we need heroes,and life in the 21st century we need in the end what is!
For the first question,the hero usually appear in martial arts or war,getting rid of maintaining social peace.But if you think that we are living in a peaceful society,therefore,we do not need heroes.Then you are wrong.What is a hero.The hero's duty is to help people solve their problems.We know that although we live in a peaceful society,but more and more people have difficulty,at the same time the gap between the rich and poor is also growing.Therefore,we need a hero who can help us in our life.There is no reason.
For the second question,what is what we need today?Money,houses,cars and power?I do not think that having these you can be happy.We only know that the development of the material aspects,while neglecting the development of our spiritual.Words for me,I need to be a brave man to stay with me,he is my hero.
