Find the number of photons incident on a detector in one second if the optic power is 1uw and the wavelength is 0.8 um.Compute and plot the photon energy in eV for a wavelength between 1260 and 1675 nm.

1μW = 10⁻⁶W = 10⁻⁶ J/s
The energy of each photon is E = hν = hc/λ = 6.6*10⁻³⁴*3*10⁸/(0.8*10⁻⁶) = 2.5*10⁻¹⁹ J
number of photons incident on a detector per second:
10⁻⁶/(2.5*10⁻¹⁹) = 4*10¹²
1 eV = 1.6×10⁻¹⁹
E = hc/λ = 2*10⁻²⁵/λ Joule = (2*10⁻²⁵/1.6×10⁻¹⁹)/λ eV = 1.25*10⁻⁶/λ eV (λ in meters)
1260 nm = 1.26*10⁻⁶m

1675 nm = 1.675*10⁻⁶m
