whenever they met,he did not speak to her,but stood near her,listening to her and watching her closely,
这里stood near her可不可以换成standing?这句话为什么用stood?拒绝复制黏贴.

不可以换成standing.因为but 是一个连词,连接的是两个句子或短语,这里连接的是两个句子,but前是he did not speak to her,之后是(he)stood near her,but 之后省略了主语,前一个句子是过去式did not ,后一个句子也需要用过去式,所以用stood.
