Antarctica, which is the coldest continent in the world, lies in the extreme south of the earth. It has an area of about 140000 square kilometres, which is covered with thick ice and deep snow all year long. However, there live many well-known animals, such as penguins, whales, and it is also rich in mineral resources including iron, coal and so on. Up to now only some visiting scientist have lived there .Maybe one day lots of families will move to live there.
