as改为like,as要和the same连用成the same as短语.
当然能了.
be like是固定短语,意思是“像.”的意思.

第一句：
He is silent because he doesn't know how to express himself(原句中的express是及物动词，没有自己的的宾语，。主语要用人，或者改成：There is a silence也行)
后半部分也可以改成：he doesn't know what to expree.
as要改成like
as是“作为”...

第一句express后面缺少宾语，最好改成how to express himself;
第二句as用法有误，as可以作连词，代词，副词和介词，不能用在这代替宾语部分，虽然它可以引导相应的从句，最好改成like a mountain 或者 the same as a mountain.

第一句express应该接名词 是及物动词 比如说 express my view
第二句 要不去掉as 是比喻句 要不把 as 改成like
be能和like连用 意思是“像” 例如 it is just like a teddy bear puppy（泰迪狗）.
