eing是动名词,是“是、当作、成为等意思”,是be的动名词形式.
be accustomed to 和be good at一样,都是“be+形容词+介词”的结构.
那么答案就出来了,介词后接什么词呀?
介词后接名词作为介词的宾语,那介词后要是动词怎么办呢,那就要把动词变成动名词,动名词就是名词.
to being the only child 是介词短语当副词用,修饰形容词accustomed

字面上看的话就是翻译里的”作为“这个意思，be accustomed to 后面跟非谓语动词，简单理解就是动词的ing形式
这个句子可以拆开理解成i was accustomed to + i was the only child at a table full of adults, 同样的主语，前一个句子的to 后面加后一个句子的谓语动(was) 的ing形式being 以及后面的内容...
