I was sitting on the train,waiting for it to start.Across from me sat a little boy,asking questions as children do.He asked his mother ,―When will the train start?‖ I answered him before his mother did,‖The train will start when we start pushing(推) .‖ The boy’s mother looked at me for a while and then smiled.The boy asked in surprise,―Really?‖ ― Of course,‖I said.―Unless we push,the train won’t start.‖ ― Then let’s push right now.‖he shouted.―Just a minute,‖I said,the passengers are not all on.I’ll tell you when to push.‖ I washed for a signal light at the station and heard the station master’s whistle(哨声) .Then I said to the boy,―Now!Push as hard as you can.‖ The little boy and I started to push.We pushed and pushed against the back of the seat very hard...The train was moving very slowly at first,but it moved faster and faster.The boy couldn’t help shouting .―We DID it!We DID it ‖He looked very pleased with himself.Hewas traveling in a train he had help to start.That day ,I didn’t tell him about the engine pulling thetrain.Someday he would find out for himself.
