这为什么不加the
More graduates would like to work in the west part of our country next year.
为什么next year 前不加the?,具体的地点,方位,时间或某一天的一部分等等前应该都要加the吧!

在向表示下一个或者前一个类似的词之前都是不能加the的
比如：
You must hand in your homework before tommorow morning.

你说的是具体的某一天或时间，next year 前面不加the 是因为又不是in the next year因该是因为，前面要有介词，名词前面就要加the。

the是定冠词,可以修饰year 但是这里year前面已经有了一个next了,就是已经表示是限定了,所以不用加the
