问一道英语定语从句语法题
Samuel survived when the car ____ he was a passenger in turned off the road and hit a tree.
答案是that ,但是that不是不能和介词in连用的吗?（除了表示因为的时候.这里被隔裂了所以可以用that吗?用which是不是更好?

这是选择题还是填空题.that和which都可以用.这里in没有提前所以可以用that.如果改成Samuel survived when the car in____ he was a passenger turned off the road and hit a tree.那就只能用which.

定于从句中that指代人或物，which指代物，因此有时可以互换，
