你想, "同一个物/人, 相同的人/物" , 那就只能是单数. 又如: We are in the same boat; we must help each other. 我们既然同舟, 就要共济. of cause they can use the same bedroom. 当然他们可以用同一间卧室.

可是他是否定的，不应该用复数么

肯定,否定都是用单数. 我们不在同一个班,用 the same 就只有一个班,用单数, 如用different , 就用复数. We are not in the same class.=We are in different classes .

你也说不在同一个班，不在同一个班那就是两个班或两个班以上，为什么不能用classes
