Fred was afraid of water.His friend thought he would never learn to swim.One day when Fred was sitting under a big tree by the river,fishing,he heard some sounds above him.He looked up and saw a bird
and her babies in a nest in the tree.
Suddenly one of the baby birds fell from the nest into the river.Its mother quickly flew down and tried to help it out of the water.But it failed."I must save the bird!"Fred thought.Without thinking,he jumped into the rive.He moved his arms and kicked his legs madly.Surprisingly he didn't drop into the water ."I'm swimming."he shouted.He caught the bird and took it out of the water .Then he put it back into the nest.
From then on,he was not afraid of water any more.
